YouTube serving 100 Million videos per day
“YouTube, the leader in Internet video search, said on Sunday viewers are now watching more than 100 million videos per day on its site, marking the surge in demand for its “snack-sized” video fare.” via Reuters. Look out myspace.
There’s something more important here. Reuters, one of the biggest and most far reaching news wires in the world called YouTube “the leader in Internet video search.” Even if the research is there to back it up . . . this is a big deal. Companies put such claims in their public relations materials and news releases all the time, but when you have Reuters do it you are in good shape.
- YouTube videos account for nearly 60 percent of videos viewed online.
- 2.5 billion videos were watched on the site in June alone.
- YouTube gets 20 million unique visitors per month.
