I’m curious. Is anybody willing to share what domain names they own? If you’re anything like me, you’ve acquired a small “portfolio” of names over the years that you haven’t done a thing with . . . Below, you’ll see a few of the ones I bought for myself or for clients. Anybody else want to share? Blake? Connor? Chris? Phil? Richard? Josh? Scott? Jordy? Phil? Jason? Janet? Jeremy?
The best one I missed by two days? www.framd.com I really wanted that one, and it just sold at the beginning of the month? If you’re willing to share, let us also know what great domain you almost snagged.
BESTINSTATE.ORG - Endless opportunities. Name speaks for itself.
FISHR.COM - Eh, who knows? I think I bought after flickr came out.
FISHR.NET
HOGNEST.COM - I’d love to own my own food joint and call it the Hog Nest. I took a page out of the Dukes of Hazzard, which has the Boar’s Nest. A $10 domain was a small price to pay for taking a step toward a dream.
INTERBIKETIMES.COM - Client. Still up today as the blog of Interbike, a company that puts on the trade show for the cycling industry.
LUXOTICS.COM - Who knows. It’s a pun on Luxury and Exotic. Cars?
MADJOLT.COM - Web company … started. Did some business. Got interested in something else. It still exists, but there’s no real web page there.
MADJOLTMEDIA.COM
MYZVUE.COM - User site for consumer electronics company.
RUSSELLPAGE.ORG
RUSSPAGE.NET
RYANDAW.COM - This guy is running for city council in Draper (my town). So, I snagged it before someone else (a competitor or something) snagged it. If he wants it, I’ll only charge him between $1 and $1 million.
SHEEPWALKING.COM - Again, some idiot would probably take the Godin-coined term and run with it as a site playing off his wisdom. I hate that crap, so I bought it and redirected it to his blog post on sheepwalking, which I think is one of the coolest made up words I’ve heard in some time.
SNEKRS.COM - Flickr days back at ya.
SNEKRS.NET
SNIKR.COM - A site with Jokes? Hah. Don’t know.
SNIKR.NET
SOARCOMM.COM
SOARCOMMUNICATIONS.COM
SPINJAS.COM - Blog on PR.
UTAHMONEYWATCH.COM - MadJolt owned.
UTAHTECHWATCH.COM - MadJolt owned.

I’m not really into gather domains… all the good ones are taken (like Google.com, Amazon.com, Yahoo.com …darnit! Why didn’t I think of those first???). Since I started my business I’ve hung onto:
JasonAlba.com (net, etc.)
JibberJobber.com (net, etc.)
TransitioningHome.com (for military that are deployed, and have issues transitioning back home (specifically related to career transitions)
I let these go:
ShouldIHomeSchool.com
ThirdPartyOffshore.com (was going to be a site to help people figure out offshoring programming, with resources and other cool stuff)
and a few others that I can’t remember.
It was becoming too distracting to me… like mental clutter, and my mind was too simple to handle it all :p.

I own all the Chris Knudsen domains except for the dotcom, which is owned by a Chris Knudsen in Seattle who won’t sell it to me. I also recently bought all my kids dotcom domain names. Here’s some other cool ones:
asseenonweb.tv
famousontheweb.com (I’d really like to do something with this one)
mountainworx.com
utahbizcast.com
utahtechcast.com
utahbusinessradio.com
Like Jason, I’ve never been too hip on hoarding domain names… I own connorboyack.com and .net, webvidpro.com (my portfolio), and up until recently owned sustaind.org (but sold Sustain’d to the More Good Foundation).
UTAHICECREAM.COM
utah-concerts.com
utahbloglist.com
ourboard.net
…
Used to own the801.com - but I sold it. Wish I wouldn’t have.
I own several. The only one I’ve sold was one I bought for a startup which was never used: ascendant.biz.
themulti^^ediagroup.com - (replace the dual ^^ with a single M, just to throw off those google search engines and the prospective buyer’s searches) - just got offered $2550.00 for this. i used to be involved with a company which operated under the name, but it hasn’t been active for some time. could use others opinions on this one. is $2550.00 a good deal for it?

I owned freemacware.com, freemacblog.com, and a few other freemac* sites but we sold them in May. I own and have owned a few others.
I bought rssgrep.com (a geeky name, admittedly) and envisioned a way to filter RSS feeds. Then Yahoo Pipes came along.
I also bought hellularphone.com, envisioning a forum for cell phone complaints and gripes, e.g. usability, billing, coverage, etc. I think I was particularly upset with my cell phone company that month.
