The Barney Press release
“I love you. You love me.” It’s a press release tactic for touting strategic partnerships. According to Steve Rubel, it actually worked at one time, but people catch on and give it overkill. His prediction? Barney Blogging is on its way.
Corante has some other thoughts on this from a VCs perspective.
“If an early-stage company claims to have a handful of partners, take a closer look to see whether the partner is really adding anything to the bottom line. If the partner is just there for show (i.e. another pretty face on a Web site), then the partnership is really nothing more than a “Barney press release.” via Corante
