SF Olympic torch protest gets PR spin from China

There’s always more than one way of looking at an issue, especially when you’re the PR person who has to make something look “not as bad” as it really is. The guy in the photo is “showing courage” according to the caption even though he’s getting his butt kicked. And San Francisco is apparently “embracing” the torch relay with pride even though security is high and protests are far and wide. (See below).

81% in Poll Say Nation Is on the Wrong Track
Do we really need a poll to reveal that a potential recession is “the Wrong Track?”

Truckers say port of entry costing too much in fuel
“One trucker told us it’s costing him money just to idle, especially at those ports of entry truckers have to stop at.” And it costs the rest of us money “just to idle” in rush hour traffic, in construction zones and at stop lights.

80,000 Jobs Cut in March; Unemployment Rate Rises

Hillary Clinton Advocates “Poverty Czar”

“I mean appointing a cabinet level position that will be solely and fully devoted to ending poverty as we know it in America, a position that will focus the attention of our nation on this issue.”

Unless she appoints someone like Milton Friedman (who actually passed away in 2006), a Poverty Czar with a socialized agenda will only make the problem worse.

Barack Obama positions Al Gore as an endorsement

Obama wants Gore on his team

” I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this [climate change] problem,” Obama said.

Obama also said he talks with the former vice president on a “regular basis,” and often consults with him on climate change issues.

That’s one heckuva “stick it in your ear Hillary” statement from the Obama team. Al Gore has been the big unknown in the Democratic race the entire time.

FOOLS! 6 viral hoaxes that take the cake

pity-the-fool.jpgIf you haven’t noticed, today is the day where you can’t trust anyone. You can’t trust the news, you can’t trusty anything your friends email you, and you certainly can’t trust Digg (which you rarely can anyway). In honor of April Fool’s Day, I thought I would pass around a few of my favorite classic pranks.

6 – Planetary alignment decreases gravity
“In 1976 the British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth’s own gravity”

5 – The Sydney Iceberg
“Only when the berg was well into the harbor was its secret revealed. It started to rain, and the firefighting foam and shaving cream that the berg was really made of washed away, uncovering the white plastic sheets beneath.”

WordPress 2.5
I like it. On the front end, WP 2.5 looks no different, but the admin interface is another story.

It makes much more sense from a user perspective. It’s not so cluttered. It’s made for the end user.

Photos: Why you shouldn’t link to photos on other websites

Here’s an example of why you shouldn’t link to photos on other websites by simply pulling a file. This Superdell photo on my site was hijacked by a site that is very pro-Democrat, so I decided to a have a little fun and made screen shots of the blog post for proof.

I’ve seen examples of worse…

According to the news . . .

It’s time for another installment of roll-your-eyes news headlines.

The following news headlines are real. Some I heard on the radio; some I found online.

KSL Radio
“Coming up next . . . the high priced call girl who ruined Eliot Spitzer’s political career.”

  • Are you serious? Poor, poor Spitzer. Somebody should have warned him about this one.

“…events in Colorado continue to raise questions about whether Mormon missionaries receive sufficient training in cultural sensitivity before entering the mission field.”
