More on Obama and cocaine.
Two of my good friends in the PR industry made additional comments on my post about Barack Obama, cocaine use and 60 minutes.
Curtis Gasser says . . .
I suppose young people could see Obama’s former drug use and be inspired to turn their own lives around, but couldn’t some of them see it and say, “Hey, this dude did drugs and now he’s running for president. Maybe drugs aren’t so bad . . .â€
Clayton Blackham says . . .
Couldn’t agree with you [Russ] more. On a sports level, I once spoke to a writer about this very thing. He said that an organization is upfront about it and divulges the information they can to the media, the story is over in a story or two. On the filp side, however, an organization hides details and is tight-lipped, the story goes on for weeks, and they’ll dig for more info.

Political wisdom of the Clinton campaign

Looking at the media relations strategy of the Clinton campaign, they never cease to amaze with their skill. Here’s the headline: Clinton chairman: Obama would be good running mate a) I think they really mean it. b) It positions Hillary Clinton as the President, the winner and the “real” nominee for the Democratic party. c)
Milton Friedman on Greed

In the realm of politics, this is quite an interesting video to watch. Milton Friedman was an American Nobel Laureate economist who died in 2006. Friedman was a very bright man.
Do you believe the bible? Republican responses.

I you were in the middle of a presidential debate and someone asked you if you believe every word of the bible, what would you say? Here’s what Rudy, Mitt and Mike had to say, and frankly, I think Mike Huckabee did the best job with this question when put on the spot. It sounds
The truth shows its face on Utah Vouchers

$9.3 million was approved by the Utah legislature for use on vouchers until it went to referendum and was voted down. So what’s going to happen to the money? It’s not going to public education because that’s not where the money came from. But again, voucher opponents and many teachers led a lot of people
Utah voucher sign theft caught on video

Are you kidding me? What the guy in the video doesn’t realize is that the property owner tied fish line to the sign, which was connected to his house and a ringing bell.

Even if you don’t live in Draper, Utah to be able to vote for Paul Tonks for city council that’s okay. I still get to voice my opinion and hope that others in Draper will read this and do the same. Why I’m Voting for Paul Tonks for Draper City Council 1 – He’s the

Get a load of this commonly believed baloney. Myth: Vouchers will divert money from public schools. Fact: This

Utah Vouchers: Oreo cookie ad exposed?
about 4 years ago - 10 comments
Can anyone address whether this video is accurate or not? Connor was first. Sure, it’s more accurate than the original oreo ad. But this one (and most of them) leave out one crucial point: who does the money belong to? The person in this video, and those who believe likewise, feel that the taxpayer’s money

How easy will it be for Romney to ditch the “Mormon” story? It seems that there are so many that want to keep bringing up irrelevant or outright false issues.

I\’m starting to think that he won\’t ditch the Mormon story at all. I think it will help him in some ways.
- The whole \”many wives\” lies dont\’ work. He\’s married to the only woman he has ever kissed while all the other candidates have been married more than once. In that sense, Romney is the only candidate who hasn\’t had \”many wives.\”
- Honesty is a \”Mormon\” teaching if you will.
- He\’s got big-time business names starting to back him up.

I understand what you’re saying but I’ve already grown weary of the vitriolic tone of so many that just want to use this as their bully pulpit.

Getting back to Obama…regardless of the effect the candidate’s past drug use might have on kids, being up front and frank about it was his only reasonable choice, other than quitting the election altogether. Any idiot knows this stuff gets out eventually, and hiding it only makes it worse. Not that I’m insinuating there are no idiots in Congress…

Here’s a question for the guru of politics… why is Romney’s religion an issue, and Obama’s not. He’s Muslim if I understand correctly, and even grew up in a home with an extremist as his step-dad. Not saying its his fault, or even something we should consider, but the fact its been left out of the news is suspect, isn’t it?
(Side note: I get that Romney’s religion is an issue because of the religious right, but the liberals polled didn’t seem to fond of the Mormon thing, or Muslim thing for that matter, either)

I\’m going to have to think on this one some more. I actually read one article today that was written about Romney and religion, and it made fun of Mormons, but it was also very complimentary to the idea of having someone so \”squeaky clean\” in the Whitehouse.
Here it is: http://www.seacoastonline.com/news/elliott/3_29elliott.htm

Wait a minute – Obama is a Muslim? Am I missing something here?
By the way, I read the article above as well and although there were some offensive things in there I also found it complimentary and a little funny as well.

OK, I just read that his grandfather was a Muslim but he claims to be a christian – a former cocaine snorting christian liberal democrat. OK – everything is back to normal.

…a former cocaine snorting christian liberal democrat.
Or in other words, “hell in a handbasket”.
