Exploring the Art & Science of Marketing
Is that an iPod?
I don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but my wife and I teach a Sunday school class for seven and eight year olds at our church, and those kids say the darndest things at times.
Yesterday one of the boys looked over at my RAZR cell phone and asked “Is that an iPod?” (He’s eight). I said no, it’s a cell phone. Playing dumb and extremely curious about what an eight year old could possibly know about a $400 music player, I asked him, “what’s an iPod?”
His reply . . . “It’s a little electronic thing that plays music when you push the button.” Simple as that. When eight-year-old kids can explain your technology and they don’t even own it, you know you are doing something right.
