If you haven’t noticed, today is the day where you can’t trust anyone. You can’t trust the news, you can’t trusty anything your friends email you, and you certainly can’t trust Digg (which you rarely can anyway). In honor of April Fool’s Day, I thought I would pass around a few of my favorite classic pranks.
6 - Planetary alignment decreases gravity
“In 1976 the British astronomer Patrick Moore announced on BBC Radio 2 that at 9:47 AM a once-in-a-lifetime astronomical event was going to occur that listeners could experience in their very own homes. The planet Pluto would pass behind Jupiter, temporarily causing a gravitational alignment that would counteract and lessen the Earth’s own gravity”
5 - The Sydney Iceberg
“Only when the berg was well into the harbor was its secret revealed. It started to rain, and the firefighting foam and shaving cream that the berg was really made of washed away, uncovering the white plastic sheets beneath.”
4 - Skyway to heaven
“Airlines will not pair Christian pilots and co-pilots out of fear that the Rapture will snatch away both crewmembers capable of landing the flight.”
3 - LonelyGirl15
Read the wikipedia entry.
2 - Jay Leno Email
Why? Because every relative over the age of 50 sent me this one.
1 - Tupac is still alive
This one is my favorite because I know the people who pulled it off by using a fake site from some off-shore island and a clone of the CNN site. Conspiracy sites still point to this entirely fake CNN article as proof that Tupac is still alive. (See below)
What are some of your all-time favorite pranks?
