eCommerce: Who is the clear leader?

shoppingcart.jpgIf any company has done a good job of positioning itself as the leader in eCommerce solutions for small businesses, I would say it’s Yahoo!. But, I have not heard good things about using Yahoo! from people whose opinions matter.

After some curiosity and research, I found the following eCommerce solutions?

Are there others? Probably. So here’s the question. What do you recommend? Who do you think has the best eCommerce solution for marketing products online? Ronald McDonald is patiently waiting for your response.

I’ve used Cubecart for a project before and it worked, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with it. It’s supposedly easier to configure than OS Commerce, which is very popular. Phil Windley suggested RightCart.com. Utah computer MyTechSupport sells VeraCart.com.

I’m looking forward to the release of Free CSS Cart, which is at #3 on the MoMB list.

I have used lots of carts, and I actually help develop Veracart. We do get a lot of converts from OS commerce, zen cart, and the like (and rarely the other way around). It all depends on your needs. For example, I am acually impress with Zoovy’s features list, however, they are much more expensive when you compare all teh modules side-by-side, and are ok with paying $250 a month if you want everything. However, Zen Cart may be for you if you really want to hack into the code, because we, like many hosted shopping carts do not allow modification of our source code. Veracart has several distinct advantages over many carts, for example in being able to do advance templating–which graphic designers say we are da bomb for. I must say, their support team is also very decent compared to many (self- testimonial here).
