DNCs Damien LaVera on Mitt Romney

The Democratic National Committee released a statement on Mitt Romney shortly after he announced his official bid for the Whitehouse.

Sounds to me like they are trying to pull the old “flip-flopper” card. That’s so 2004.

LeVera also said “By now, you’d think Romney would have learned that the American people don’t want turnaround artists who will say whatever he thinks they want to hear to get elected.”

The Problem with Damien LaVera’s Quote
- Everybody loves a turnaround artist, especially one with an amazing track record.
- Mitt is the first candidate I’ve seen who says things that people may not want to hear, and here’s a perfect example from USA Today.

“We can’t have as a nation 40 million people — or, in my state, half a million — saying, ‘I don’t have insurance, and if I get sick, I want someone else to pay,” Gov. Mitt Romney. Contrast that with the DNCs folks forcing business owners to pay for universal healthcare. Which ones do you really think are telling people what they want to hear LaVera?

My Thoughts on Mitt/LaVera
I think the DNC is in a position where they believe they can take down Mitt Romney because he doesn’t have a big following yet. Their job is to squash any opponent of a Democratic opponent and they probably had this press release written weeks ago waiting to push go.

Jewish Democrats have gone to town on Romney for choosing the Henry Ford Museum as the site of his announcement. This is a smart move by democrats because it takes a religious guy and makes him look not religious. How this is news is beyond me other than it’s conflict. Conflict is a powerful thing in getting news coverage.

Guess what they’re all going to talk about in connection with his presidential announcement . . .
