I don’t know if Larry Craig is guilty of his accused offense or not, but the whole tape of his alleged “confession” in the police station is an interesting piece of audio.
Listen to the officer’s highly frustrated tone (all the while Senator Craig remains completely calm until the very end.)
Frustrated Officer: “I guess I’m going to say I’m just disappointed in you sir. I really am. I expect this from the guy we get out of the hood, but I mean, people vote for you. (I can’t believe he actually said that he “expects” this from the guy in the hood).
A suprisingly calm Senator Craig: “Yes they do, and I’m a respectable person, and I don’t do these kinds of things”
Is Craig guilty? I don’t know, but all the publicity certainly doesn’t help him. Being arrested and not telling anyone doesn’t help him either. I do think people (and a judge and jury) are going to be less quick to hang him out to dry if they hear this conversation. Again, Craig could be guilty, but I’m curious how many media outlets will actually run this audio.
