Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton or Mitt Romney? How about Gladys Knight?

Source unknown.

“Here’s my take on the 2008 presidential race. There’s no doubt history is in the making. We may have either the first Black president, the first Woman president or the first Mormon president. Why not kill three birds with one stone and elect Gladys Knight and call it a day?”

the problem with this joke is that it gives a clear example of how badly the Mormon church is doing with racial integration…it presupposes that there’s only one widely known black woman member. If that’s true, it’s sad.

Lighten up D! There is no presupposition here. The truth is this is a joke… plain and simple. How many widely known black Catholics or black Lutherans or black Presbyterians do you know? Sheeeeeesh! It isn’t fodder for those who don’t like Mormons or the Mormon church! You’ve shown you hand…

You all don’t know what you are talking about when you say ignorant things like that about the Mormans! I just mark that comment up as just that…IGNORANT!

“how badly the Mormon church is doing with racial integration”

We’ve had members in Africa since 1853, just a few years after the church was formally organized. Currently it’s growing almost too fast to keep up with. So … we’ve been “integrated” long before there was such thing as “racial intergration”.

Gladys Knight is the only famous LDS singer I know in general–black, white, male, female …

Now that Mitt dropped out I guess we better give Gladys a call.

Hillary Clinton would make a great first Female President, Gladys would be great too, or Condi Rice. Mitt Romney can be VP!
