I’m starting to see how the Barack Obama campaign is positioning itself against the Hillary Clinton Campaign. Heaven knows John Edwards doesn’t stand a chance at the Democrat nomination.
- Barack Obama voted against the war in Iraq from the beginning.
- Hillary Clinton voted twice in support.
The war in Iraq will be one of the biggest issues in 2008. It’ll be interesting to watch how the Clinton teams handles this one. The biggest question (the elephant in the room if you will) is sill surrounding Al Gore. He says he isn’t running, but a team of people have gathered to try and get him to run. And, if he doesn’t run, who will he endorse? That could change everything.

I know this is highly unlikely, but what happens if the war in Iraq ends before the election? Or what if it is credibly in the wrap-up stages such that whoever wins won’t need to worry about it too much? Again, highly unlikely, but not impossible given that a lot could happen in the next two years.
I personally think it won\’t matter. They\’ll use the cost, loss of lives, turmoil in the region, increased nuclear activity from Iran and other things as cannon fodder.
Russ I’d like your opinion on why the press is not reporting on Barack’s admitted cocaine use? If this were a republican they would slaughter him for using drugs.
Because it isn’t news as in “new” information and because he is the one who divulged it. If it would have come out from someone else, the news would have had a heyday with it, but from what I understand, he actually divluged the information in a book he wrote.
That is actually another reason why they don’t cover it. He came out and said something like “I did it. I did it when I was a kid, and I do not condone this behavior.”
