Amish friendship bread: guilt, resentment and apathy.
Read: I almost fell off the couch laughing when I read this line in a Salt Lake Tribune article on Amish Friendship Bread.
But just like its chain [letter] cousin, friendship bread for some creates guilt, resentment and just plain apathy.
Not to get too critical here, but I’m not really seeing who the “some” are that feel these traumatic feelings often associated with real life issues like being dishonest. Oh the things we call the news.
The bread creates so much apathy that the paper that the paper even included a recipe for the bread, which by the way is actually very tasty.

I’m affected by these types of issues everyday. If those darned Amish are making preparations to shove their religion / delicious bread down my throat yet again, I need to hear about it –so thank goodness for the Salt Lake Tribune, sentinel of foreboding issues to come!
For the record, I’m also interested in ways to protect my skin from overexposure during the summer, how to save on my heating bill during the winter, who is getting kicked off American Idol when I’m watching Fox News, and how to adopt a puppy (or save one from a distant catastrophe) basically all year long.
It’s a good thing there are no real issues to care about, otherwise the American public might be over-informed come election season. Viva hard-hitting journalism!
