5 bad headlines for your enjoyment

In some cases, the articles aren’t that bad, but the headlines?

5 - Clinton Donors Worried by Campaign’s Spending. Solution: Stop giving her money. The White House is no place to sharpen your spending habits.

4 - Gore to U.S., China: Fix climate or else. Or else what? You’ll make another movie?

3 - Photos suggest FLDS contractors using child labor. It sounds like a real problem, but fter reading the story, one can’t help but feel the FLDS may be getting picked on a little with the encouragement of some bitter contractors in St. George.

2 - Some say local animals felt Nevada earthquake. That whole “some” line is always fun. They quote one person in the story. “When they went in to clean the cats later in the morning, they seemed louder and more stressed than usual.” Last I remember cats are always loud when you try to clean them.

1 - Ann Coulter’s Credit Card Denied At Florida Supermarket.
Isn’t Florida just a magnet for political controversy.

“Isn’t Florida just a magnet for political controversy.”

I think you know I feel about this one.

The worst part of that scenario is that it has happened to most of us. Last summer I took a trip to New England. I would use one of my cards a couple of times and then it would be declined. This happened three times before I finally realized that my bank and the credit card companies had decided that they must be fraudulent charges. Of course, this usually occurs after the bank and cc companies have closed for a long weekend.

I called my bank and they said that they had called my house and when I did not return the call, they froze my account. (The fact that I was out of town explains why I did not return the call to my house.) While I appreciate their attempt to prevent fraudulent charges, the lack of any charges in Utah could have been a hint I was out of town.

Now whenever I am going out of town I call my firm card, my back and the credit card I use for personal charges before I go. The last thing I want is someone I am trying to buy something from thinking I’m a deadbeat. Worse yet, it to be stuck somewhere without much cash and without a credit card that will be accepted.
