Larry Craig to announce resignation Saturday

Embattled Republican Sen. Larry Craig will announce his resignation from the Senate Saturday, a GOP source in Idaho said Friday.

Did the police strong arm Larry Craig into a confession?

I don’t know if Larry Craig is guilty of his accused offense or not, but the whole tape of his alleged “confession” in the police station is an interesting piece of audio.

Listen to the officer’s highly frustrated tone (all the while Senator Craig remains completely calm until the very end.)

Frustrated Officer: “I guess I’m going to say I’m just disappointed in you sir. I really am. I expect this from the guy we get out of the hood, but I mean, people vote for you. (I can’t believe he actually said that he “expects” this from the guy in the hood).

A suprisingly calm Senator Craig: “Yes they do, and I’m a respectable person, and I don’t do these kinds of things”

Is Craig guilty? I don’t know, but all the publicity certainly doesn’t help him. Being arrested and not telling anyone doesn’t help him either. I do think people (and a judge and jury) are going to be less quick to hang him out to dry if they hear this conversation. Again, Craig could be guilty, but I’m curious how many media outlets will actually run this audio.

Amish friendship bread: guilt, resentment and apathy.

Read: I almost fell off the couch laughing when I read this line in a Salt Lake Tribune article on Amish Friendship Bread.

But just like its chain [letter] cousin, friendship bread for some creates guilt, resentment and just plain apathy.

Not to get too critical here, but I’m not really seeing who the “some” are that feel these traumatic feelings often associated with real life issues like being dishonest. Oh the things we call the news.

The bread creates so much apathy that the paper that the paper even included a recipe for the bread, which by the way is actually very tasty.

More on the supposed Lamborghini crash

Yesterday I wrote about how the story of Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs crashing his Lamborghini and leaving it was suspicious.

Chicago Bears linebacker leaves his crashed Lamborghini. Why?

Briggs delivered a press statement after it all came to the surface.

“When it happened, the first thing I did was I panicked,” Briggs said. “I didn’t want there to be a big scene there, so when I left I called a tow truck. I also was startled and called and reported my car stolen. Within 10 minutes, I called and took responsibility for what I did because it was ridiculous in the first place.”

Lance, why did you lie to the police and tell them your car was stolen?

Again, supercars have the power to slide off the road on dry pavement, and he just got this car, but answer me these questions:
How did he get home from the crash?
Who picked him up?
What did he tell that person?
Did he call anybody else?
What did he tell them happened?

Like I said yesterday, my best PR/Journalist sense tells me we’re going to learn a lot more about this crash that we haven’t been told.

Chicago Bears linebacker leaves his crashed Lamborghini. Why?

Bears Pro Bowl linebacker Lance Briggs was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after crashing his Lamborghini and leaving it alongside an expressway on Chicago’s North Side, Illinois State Police said yesterday.

via Boston Herald.

Hmmm. From my PR standpoint, I have a hunch we’re going to learn more about why Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs decided to leave his car after crashing it into a light pole at 3 a.m.

At the end of the day, I will say this . . . the guy just got the car, and if you don’t know how to drive a supercar (not that I do, but I’ve driven a couple) and you go even slightly too fast at the wrong time, you’re going to wreck it.

Just vote for any Democrat…

I’m not too impressed with the line of thinking this Demcratic student gives for voting in the 2008 election for U.S. president. CNN quips, so if Porky Pig were a democrat, you’d vote for him? Likewise, it’s disheartening when the same attitude comes from Republicans. Props to the other student for standing her ground on who she’d like to see win the GOP nomination when CNN says “he’s a longshot.”

Suncrest sunsets, just a few photos to share

I had one of those nice digital SLR cameras on hand a few days ago, so I decided to snap a few pics on my street at sundown. Taking clear pictures is harder than it looks . . .

What domain names do you own?

I’m curious. Is anybody willing to share what domain names they own? If you’re anything like me, you’ve acquired a small “portfolio” of names over the years that you haven’t done a thing with . . . Below, you’ll see a few of the ones I bought for myself or for clients. Anybody else want to share? Blake? Connor? Chris? Phil? Richard? Josh? Scott? Jordy? Phil? Jason? Janet? Jeremy?

The best one I missed by two days? www.framd.com I really wanted that one, and it just sold at the beginning of the month? If you’re willing to share, let us also know what great domain you almost snagged.

BESTINSTATE.ORG - Endless opportunities. Name speaks for itself.

FISHR.COM - Eh, who knows? I think I bought after flickr came out.
FISHR.NET

HOGNEST.COM - I’d love to own my own food joint and call it the Hog Nest. I took a page out of the Dukes of Hazzard, which has the Boar’s Nest. A $10 domain was a small price to pay for taking a step toward a dream.

INTERBIKETIMES.COM - Client. Still up today as the blog of Interbike, a company that puts on the trade show for the cycling industry.

LUXOTICS.COM - Who knows. It’s a pun on Luxury and Exotic. Cars?

MADJOLT.COM - Web company … started. Did some business. Got interested in something else. It still exists, but there’s no real web page there.
MADJOLTMEDIA.COM
MYZVUE.COM - User site for consumer electronics company.

RUSSELLPAGE.ORG
RUSSPAGE.NET

RYANDAW.COM - This guy is running for city council in Draper (my town). So, I snagged it before someone else (a competitor or something) snagged it. If he wants it, I’ll only charge him between $1 and $1 million.

SHEEPWALKING.COM - Again, some idiot would probably take the Godin-coined term and run with it as a site playing off his wisdom. I hate that crap, so I bought it and redirected it to his blog post on sheepwalking, which I think is one of the coolest made up words I’ve heard in some time.

SNEKRS.COM - Flickr days back at ya.
SNEKRS.NET

SNIKR.COM - A site with Jokes? Hah. Don’t know.
